DENTAL DISEASE  - THE MOST COMMONLY DIAGNOSED ILLNESS IN DOGS & CATS

Few pet owners realize that dental disease is the MOST COMMON ILLNESS in dogs and cats.  According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats have some form of periodontal disease by the age of 2.  Infections in the mouth can spread through the bloodstream to other organs including the heart, liver and kidneys.  This can lead to chronic and sometimes fatal problems.

Proper dental hygiene is imperative to your pet's health.  Warning signs include:  Bad breath, blood on bones or toys that your pet chews, sensitivity around your pet's mouth, red or bleeding gums, reluctance to eat hard food, reluctance to groom, irritability, aggressiveness.
